Response to Nitoo Das' The Poetry of Everyday Life

The Poetry of Everyday Life: I

Bookmarks

It's like someone forgot
that people are not bookmarks;
you cannot continue where you left off.
I think I am the best storyteller;
where you left off
might tell you a lot about why you left in the first place.

It’s like, we bookmarks
never had a lot of appetite for leaving anyway;
that is why we always stayed
as if we were stapled away.
I have a lot of issues with leaving.
Sometimes I feel letting go should be my staple diet.

It’s like my worst fear is FOMO too
and one day
these dictionaries might have Athazagoraphobia
as an adjective
for bookmarks too.
