Love Poem

Sweetheart!

Before all the forged vows that you shall take,

Let me warn you of all the veiled dangers for my love sake.

Though autumn blooms in our garden of love;

There will soon be clouds that hover above.

So Darling I tell you this so you don’t lose hope,

The deceptive roses and intricacy that you have to cope.

I hope you know that beauty is only skin deep,

For all that superficial you love is nothing but weak.

There will be days I will take you by surprise;

But all the irksome days will make you wonder if you have wedded the right wife!

Though beauty can wither with age and time,

My soul will always love you right.

I know there will always be prettiness around;

So spare me the days I become timid of losing you to the crowd.

There will always be reasons to walk away,

When conversations become hard or miles apart we lay.

Remember the reasons why we took this risk;

Because only love will last even when the lust will end.

The negatives will make you want to walk off;

The generation we belong to gets bored in the short span of a cough.

Let time and patience play its role,

When we sound absurd to each other or insecurities take a toll.

Days that I will be warm and cozy, times I cook,dance and love you to no end..

Never take it for granted, for there will be days I will be fanatical with tantrums and taunts that are not really meant.

You will encounter the silly anger and frustration.

I haven’t changed honey! they are the phases of life and their variations.

May we never forget the small things we did while courting each other.

To make this forever exciting will require a few surprises and some effort.

Never lose that youthful spirit  that had made you bend down not caring of the people who looked.

May we always find time to lose our minds like the first time that we had hooked.

More than a lover may I always be your best friend;

The one you want to reveal all your secrets or talk about the scores of your favorite match at length.

Our work and career  may change places in the priority chart.

But let love inspire us to work even more hard;

Let us never make them the reasons for strolling away

From achieving our individual dreams, may we never sway.

To learn and explore together will always be the aim;

Like toddlers to school may we grow up each day with no societal shame.

Money is transient, it will come and go;

Let not gifts and luxuries define our relationship goals.

What will last is this relation and memories that we will cherish;

When we are sitting in the backyard where my carnations flourish .

Let us be the pillar of strength for one another;

The anti depressant that will make it easy to go further.

When our bodily organs have given up on us;

A loss of sight , sound when to the bed we sulk.

Let us experience oblivion that we are old;

To rejoice the time we have left on this earth untold.

A second childhood, embarrassing moments like the time we may wet our pants;

Let us happily serve each other ,make it hard for the pain to take its stand.

Babe its sad how we will not depart as souls together;

But may the one left behind not be weakened or bound by the fetter.

Love is selfless it will for sure be happy to see you move on.

Even if it means letting you go and the heart is piercingly torn.

May you nurture as a person and make me more proud.

We will raise a toast to the years together ;

No matter how distant ,imagine the “I love you” that I would always shout.

Lovesick/ Sick of Love

There are no winners in love,
No losers either,
Just cliches catching you off-guard
At every street corner.
Love is a battlefield, of two (or more) humans
Resisting the slow invasion
Of their lover’s projected fantasies.

I tell myself that love can be broad, love can be narrow,
love can be easy, love can be a chore, love can you give you a purpose,
love can make you faithless, love can lift you up,
love can make your world go around and then topple off its axis,
but love won’t do the dishes.

I have myself believe that love is fashionable,
love is a commodity marking nearly all pop culture products,
love conquers all, love makes you devoted to a fallible god,
but love won’t pay the taxes.

I convince myself that love is clever, love is slow,
love is all that won’t superficially show,
love is a noose, love is a leash,
love is a jilted muse, love is a plea,
love is the sound of two hands clapping, love is an echo in the void,
but love won’t keep your safe from yourself.

I delude myself into thinking love is fair,
love is emancipated from the past,
love is rebellious, stability in love is conformity,
love is an itch you can’t scratch,
love is a scab that is peeled before it heals,
love is a flower whose scent makes you giddy,
but love alone won’t keep lovers together.

honorable lover

                    POETRY- HONORABLE  LOVER

What am I searching for?
Only you,
To look into your eyes
And to find my own self
What I want?
Only you,
To be with you,
To love you,
To be a better person
For your precious happiness
What I love?
Only you,
To feel the existence of the universe,
To live within every second of time,
To feel alive and worthy
Because nothing existed in the world
Until I saw you
Until I felt in love with you
What I pray for?
Only you
You made me what I am
And as a matter of fact my love
I do not even exist for anyone
But you know this very well
You are my honorable love
And I am your honorable lover…

Still loving you

As I shut my eyes and say your name.
Feels like the pain fade away.
Being so lonely in a world like this,
Recalling memories, I so much missed.
The smile I wore yesterday,
Had faded away utterly.
I’m so In love with you.
Deep inside I pray
Begging myself for your comeback.
Still saying ‘I love you’.

This was her only love story

Among the crowd, there was a heart like a drought,
with a lot of noise outside but silence inside,
plenty of faces at side but blind at sight,
in search of love her heart flew like a dove.

oh! her heart, oh! her soul,
the love of her life had a very small role,
with less togetherness and with little hope,
it all sat like a lifeless rope,

she had dreamed a life with him,
full of care and love they grew,
sharing all precious time together,
just love and no place for hatred rather,

the dream was sweet and precious for her,
but he went too far and was no longer near,
she waited for him all alone,
days and weeks passed so long,

she was alone with a heart broken,
with no joy and happiness to be spoken,
but then he came back to her,
after hurting a lot he was back without any fear,

she knew soon he would go back,
again leaving her with sadness full of sack,
so she uttered it was better for both,
to leave each other's heart before any growth.

and in the end this was her only love story, this was her only love story.

A small, white envelope

I have a small, white envelope.
On my bed it lies, unmoving.
The edges frayed.
Yellow and blue and grey.
And pale, like moth eaten skin.

My small, white envelope is,
Bedecked in ancient addresses,
Necklaced in landline numbers,
Blanketed in sketches of faces,
Now unfamiliar.

You can feel,
The coarseness of sawdust,
The frailty of ash,
The softness of mildew,
The dampness of spilt coffee,
On its infirm paper body.

You see,
This small, white envelope,
Is no longer white,
And it is crumpled like my skin,
And it smells of time,
And the oil stains of an unfortunate lunch.

                                                                        *

I had a small, white envelope.
Now I lift its carcass.
A decrepit cenotaph.
Dedicated to me.
To time.

To the letter I never wrote to you.

Of Love

build me a vocabulary,
of love.
of,
a hot bath.
of,
lover’s balmy wrath.

build me a vocabulary,
of,
poetry for bad mood.
of,
beloved’s tasted food.

build me a vocabulary,
of,
linen sheets in a messy room.
of,
a young bride waiting for groom.

build me a vocabulary,
of love.
of,
sniffing beloved’s woolen glove.
a vocabulary,
pushed past love.
