City Poem

Do I belong to a city?

Or does the city belong to me?

Am I part of a city?

Or is the city part of me?

Familiarity of its roads, narrows by lanes, the quaint cafes, the cheap restaurants,

my regular haunts for jaunts with friends and family.

Do these belong to a city?

Or do they belong to me?

Are they a part of a city?

Or are they a part of me?

The Home, the school, the park with the swings, the college, the office,

the memories they make, carry and keep safe.

Do they get left behind?

Or does the city preserve them for me?

Who is the city?

The city is me and I am the city.
